A monumental installation by U.K.-born, Montreal-based David Spriggs will open the fall program. Produced during a summer-long residency using the Galerie space as a research laboratory, the project will be kept under wraps until the vernissage. The outcome will allow viewers to take stock of a practice that verges at once on drawing, painting, sculpture and assemblage.

Anne Parisien's video of a staged event, made in collaboration with a family member, reinterprets and draws out the fragment of a childhood memory. In a looped projection where time is slowed, this work embodies the desire for return to a time long past.
A solo show by the internationally renowned Polish artist Artur Żmijewski will open in October. Poised between media art and documentary, his installations deploy an aesthetic of shock. These controversial and highly political works address the notion of democracy and explore the issue of violence to question the ways we live together. Screenings, a meet-the-artist session and a roundtable discussion will round out the event.
